Web Build Standards
Web build standards – We build all new sites to the following standards.
Navigation – should be structured with the end user in mind. Use of the back button to return to your full navigation is not good practice. Drop-down menus are in addition to static navigation items – not a replacement.
All uploads should be managed via FTP or HTML
All commercial websites should make use of the URL rewriter
All clients should be given the option to produce their web sites as a multi-lingual shell within the original design phase.
Screen resolution MUST be agreed with the client prior to build, we recommend 1024 X 768 because it accommodates 80% of the World market. However we will build to any resolution that you wish us to.
All commercial web sites must validate on W3C and be compatible with IE, ‘Firefox’ for PC and Safari for MAC. We will also optimise for any other at the clients request.
All commercial web sites should include an accessibility page giving contact details of who to speak to about accessibility. Alternatively full ‘accessibility’ sites can be created for an additional cost.
When specified, web sites should be built in a way that allows for easy conversion to mobile devices.
All commercial web sites should be built using modern methods instead of the older table structures. Unless necessary.
All sites should include Google analytics
All sites should include a site map – this should also be submitted to Google etc
Spam filters must be included on all contact forms or random password entry field.
