Task:

For many years Cleshar (Part of the CCS Group) have been a tier 2 Sub-contractor to Main Contractors specialising in the Rail construction sector. The business will have a £65m turnover in 2011. They work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure extremely high levels of Health & Safety are adhered to, this is proved by the Industry leading low numbers of accidents or incidents.

In Q3 of 2010 they wanted to start the re-positioning process of their business from being a Sub-contractor to being a Main Contractor in their own right.

Experience:

We have helped many businesses achieve their business goals through increased marketing activities, redefining brand values and providing business process to Business Development teams. This situations main challenge was overcoming the fact that we would now be competing with companies who were previously our clients.

Using our sector experience and knowledge Propeller worked at Board level with the Commercial and Business Development Directors to successfully define a strategy to reposition the business, whilst also win work bidding as a Main Contractor.

Work:

Our work with Cleshar has ranged from redefining the Cleshar brand and rolling it out throughout the business, to designing and producing much bespoke marketing literature including a new web site and intranet. Due to our collaborative working practices and the favourable arrangements we have with our print suppliers, we are able to respond extremely quickly to client requests and situations. Cleshar booked a stand last minute at a Rail Expo at the NEC Birmingham, we were given extremely limited time to produce content, design and layout and print literature and signage for the stand. This we completed with minimal input from the client as we already knew the business messages and communication they wanted to provide. We delivered everything to their courier in time for the journey for set-up at the NEC.
